Canva Online Design Tool
Another episode of ‘Tools I use’: Canva is an online graphic design tool, that you can use without a design background. Create social media posts, presentation slides, infographics, logos, business cards, flyers, banners, thumbnails and more. You can sign up for a free trial for a pro account or upgrade your current free account to the pro account. Step By Step Sign Up
- 1. www.canva.com
- 2. Click on sign up [Top Right Hand Corner]
- 3. Pick your sign-in path (Facebook, Google or Email/Password)
- 4. Enter your email/password (if you picked that path)
- 5. Pick type of account: business, nonprofit, personal etc.
- 6. Start your first design!
- 7. Pick a template
- 8. Drag and drop & make changes
- 9. Explore & have fun creating!

Canva is a graphic design tool that saves you time and helps you create content that will impress your customers, clients, employees and audience. To reach or teach your audience, creating content that engages and creates interest can help get your message across. You can create presentation slides, Facebook covers, blog banners/titles, Infographics, website headers, Pinterest graphics, Instagram/social media posts, YouTube thumbnails, Icons, Flyers and so much more!
If you don’t want people to ‘tune out’ at a presentation or when you share important information, creating visually relevant resources and tools will help support your information. Canva has the ability to create moving animations and short videos, which create interest and go beyond text, to include relevant visuals which emphasize your information/content.
Starting with a free account is a great week to be introduced to the platform. I found it of value to pay for the Pro account, with the ease of resizing a post, for across platforms, which utilizes my time efficiently.
