My book baby is over six months old.
This little book (88 pages) is packed with value! I can’t believe it’s over six months old since we launched it into the world! It’s kind of like my third baby. I thought it was a good time to reintroduce you to the book and me.
The other day, I needed to double-check something because I was creating an upcoming workshop, and I’m working on a few of them. I had to double-check if the tips I was going to share made it into the book. With over 101 Pro Tips for online facilitators and leaders plus 9 more hot bonus tips, it’s hard to remember all of them. That’s where the book is great to reference back!
Why I wrote THIS book:
I created a lot of content these past 5 years, based on over 20 years of experience and a Master of Adult Education. These past few years I have shared those pro tips with facilitators who had to quickly shift to the online space. People often needed something they could quickly implement right away. My goal is to help you create a learning experience that turns an audience into participants. Plus this also only happens when you are loving what you do!
How I wrote this:
I wrote this book following a learning experience journey for your participants. (It follows a fun course I developed as well). However, we often buy books to solve a problem or for a topic of interest, and we intend to read them someday. I wanted my book to be an easy resource where you can pick where to start and where to jump next.
Why buy the book:
When I read books, I like to write notes, highlight and add sticky notes in great books! This book is perfect for that!
Why read the book:
The book is divided into five chapters, each with a story example and pro tips you can pick from Promo, Prepared, Prelude, Presence, & Promise. You can decide where to start and what part to read next. There is no need to read it cover to cover, but over time, you will be glad you did.
Why go back to the book again and again:
This is a value-packed book; you don’t have to read all of it to take one action at a time. There is a full checklist at the back of the book, where you can check off items you have added to your learning experiences.
Why tell others about the book:
This book was meant to be used and shared! Technology is ever-changing, and we are often creating new learning experiences and training materials all the time. Double-checking that you are making sure your participants want to show up and participate must be intentional.
Thank you
Thank you for celebrating my book baby being over 6 months old! Online meetings and virtual learning experiences are here to stay! It’s great we can have the best of both worlds, online and in-person. Consider this book a resource for your work, and ask your local library to order it too.
….Thank you to all of you who have already bought the book and added a review on Amazon or GoodReads. And thank you to Life to Paper Publishing for helping me share this fantastic book with the world!
My reflections 6 months later…
Hot Bonus Tip
Consider the learning experience, even if it’s a meeting, in the context of Before, During and After. What barriers could prevent someone from participating and getting the full value?
